WELCOME TO THE NEXT GENERATION PROGRAM

National Oilwell Varco (NOV) created the Next Generation Program to recruit, develop, place and retain high potential college graduates in various disciplines. The Next Generation Program aims to add new talent to NOV’s dynamic company culture by investing in these graduates through giving them a variety of challenging and educational experiences that will help them develop a strong foundation for the rest of their career with NOV. As a member of the Next Generation Program, you will be given the opportunity to work with some of the best managers in the industry while developing your professional skills through valued added projects.

Past recruits have come from over 120 universities worldwide with a variety of backgrounds and experiences. During the interview process candidates must demonstrate strong values, a diligent work ethic, and good communication skills. The program operates in The United States and in various international locations.

There are four main career tracks that may be pursued: Engineering, Business, Information Technology (IT) and Accounting. Each of these career tracks have their own rotational system, time structure and program benefits based on location, skills needed, career opportunities and business unit policies. Career tracks are available dependent on regional needs.

Next Generation - Engineering
When a Next Generation employee starts with NOV, his/her employment consists of various rotations throughout the numerous business groups of NOV strengthening both the value added to the new employee and the organization. The customized rotational schedule, based on current business needs and interests of the Next Generation employee, focuses on providing a well-rounded experience in multiple disciplines within the Engineering field. The rotational period can last anywhere between twelve to eighteen months, dependent upon business need and region, with potential travel during rotations. Upon completion of the program, the employees transition into permanent positions based upon the business needs of NOV and the individuals' strengths and interests.

Next Generation – Business
When a Next Generation employee starts with NOV, his/her employment consists of various rotations throughout the numerous business groups of NOV strengthening both the value added to the new employee and the organization. The customized rotational schedule, based on current business needs and interests of the Next Generation employee, focuses on providing a well-rounded experience in such capacities as sales, marketing, finance, human resources, operations, and manufacturing. The rotational period can last anywhere between twelve to eighteen months, dependent upon business need and region, with potential travel during rotations. Upon completion of the program, the employees transition into permanent positions based upon the business needs of NOV and the individuals' strengths and interests.

Next Generation –Information Technology (IT)
When a Next Generation employee starts with NOV, his/her employment consists of various rotations throughout the numerous areas of Information Technology at NOV strengthening both the value added to the new employee and the organization. The customized rotational schedule, based on current business needs and interests of the Next Generation employee, focuses on providing a well-rounded experience in such capacities as software engineering, business analytics, IT infrastructure, business systems, technology support and security. The rotational period can last anywhere between twelve to eighteen months, dependent upon business need and region, with potential travel during rotations. Upon completion of the program, the employees transition into permanent positions based upon the business needs of NOV and the individuals' strengths and interests.

Next Generation Accountant Program
When a Next Generation employee starts with NOV, he/she will be assigned to Internal Audit projects during mid-quarter months and to GL Controllers during each quarter close. The rotational period can last anywhere between twenty-four to thirty-six months with travel during rotations. Travel, both domestic and international, will range from 25% to 60% of the time with international trips lasting up to five weeks. Participants will transition into full-time NOV accounting or finance positions when an appropriate opportunity becomes available.
